Mikolaj Malesza Works
Mikolaj Malesza was born at Krynki in 1954.
He studied at the Department of Interior Design of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. He obtained an honours degree. He practices painting and theater set design. He has had many individual exhibitions e.g. in Warsaw, Bialystok, Wroclaw, Amsterdam. He has taken part in several dozen exhibitions of Polish painting at home and abroad (Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Britain, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Austria, USA, Japan and elsewhere).
He has received several prizes and honorary mentions (among others the 2nd prize at the 38th Polish Winter Art Salon in Radom in 1984 and the 3rd prize at the 12th J.Spychalski Painting Competition in Poznan in 1987). He has designed sets for more than twenty productions, among others most of the stage designs for Theater Wierszalin. He has been rewarded many times for his stage work, also along with Teatr Wierszalin, they have been awarded three times Fringe First Prize at the most important European Theatre Festival in Edinburgh.
